The Community Church Without Walls is a network of small house churches located in the West End community of Birmingham. Reverend R.G. Lyons serves as pastor of The Community Church Without Walls and its house ministries. “We believe that church should be a place where we are friends with each other, where we can encourage one another and hold each other accountable, and where all Christian disciples assume leadership roles”, says Reverend Lyons. In addition to its house churches, The Community Church Without Walls operates an Assistance Ministry, Empowerment Ministry, and Mercy Ministry. The Assistance Ministry allocates a portion of contributions to assist individuals and families in West End in times of financial hardship, including assistance with utility bills, food, etc. The Empowerment Ministry helps church members to secure transportation and employment. The Mercy Ministry is an outreach to serve individuals in times of sickness and grief through support services like food preparation and house cleaning.
